February 12 - Last year Wales pulled off a coup when they trounced England to win the coveted Six Nations rugby Championship Trophy and, with this year's Six Nations campaign underway, it looks like Wales will once again be the team to beat ahead of their game against England on Saturday in Cardiff.
Last weekend Wales delivered a stunning performance against Scotland at Murryfield, where they notched up a convincing 26-13 victory over the home team after scoring four tries. England, on the other hand, could only capitalize on Italy's many stupid mistakes and poor plays to ensure their 36-11 victory.
The level of play last Saturday was like 'chalk and cheese'. Wales were clearly hungry for a win, keen to run the ball, and not in the least afraid to take the game to the Scots. England, however, looked like fish out of water as they kicked too much, were afraid to run the ball and were generally all over the place.
So the big question is how England will fare against the infinitely stronger Welsh team on Saturday, considering the bookmakers have all but written off their chances of winning the Six Nations this year. After a presumably harsh talking to last Saturday, England manager Martin Johnson brought Joe Worsley into the team.
Worsley, who replaces Steffon Armitage, will be making his first start for England since the group stages of the 2007 World Cup. Perhaps he has what it takes to bring the England rugby squad to their senses, particularly against a team as sharp and motivated as Wales, who will be out for blood come Saturday.
To make matters even worse for England, their weekend game against Wales will take place at Millenium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, where they'll undoubtedly be burdened with the additional weight of their opponent's home game advantage, and countless unfriendly spectators armed with a barrage of insults.
