July 24 - This weekend the Boks take on the old foe, the All
Blacks in Bloem.
The Boks come off a successful series against the All Blacks and must surely
be the best prepared for the Tri Nations ever. The All Blacks beat the Wallabies
in unconvincing fashion in Auckland last week and a brave man will back them
after such a quick turnaround. The travel and altitude factor should be hard to
overcome.
Here are the latest betting odds from our partner site,
Greatodds.com:
All Blacks with a 6 point start is 5/6.
South Africa outright favorite at 1/2, All Blacks pay 2/1 for a win.
South Africa to win by 1-5 pays 9/2, 6-10 pays 9/2, 16-20 pays 11/1. All
Blacks win
by 1-5 pays 11/2.
First scores: South Africa Try 4/1; South Africa penalty 13/1; All Blacks penalty
2/1.
First tryscorer: Habana 8/1, JP Pietersen 9/1, Joe Rokococko is 12/1
and Sivivatu is 14/1.
South Africa need to start the Tri Nations well if they are any chance for
the title and with the first two games at home they have a golden opportunity.
Our verdict: Boks by less than 7.
