February 21 - Hello sportsfans. Its Thursday and that can only mean one
thing. There's live rugby tomorrow! What a bumper weekend coming up with not
just the Super 14, but they'll be bashing each other up North in the six nations
as well.
Ok I am 4/7 from round one so I didn't go and make a total ass of myself.
As usual we recommend you consider
bet365.com for your Super 14 betting. Check
out their live betting if you haven't already, it's definitely worth your while.
Here are the round 2 matches and our predictions.
ACT Brumbies v Otago Highlanders
The two most uninspiring teams from round 1. The 'Landers were woeful even
though the Reds almost handed them the pill in the second half of their losing
encounter. The Brumbies have a backline full of players that nobody eve heard of, but
at home they will be too good. There's nothing else to do in Canberra on a
weekend so the whole town's energy goes into their team.
Bet365 has the Bumboys as a 1.4 favorite and that makes a lot of sense.
Bulls v Canterbury Crusaders
Bulls pre-match chat: "OK boys this is how it's going to be. Gary, every time
we're on their 22 you throw to Victor at 4. Bakkies you peel off the back and
take it wide. Brian you cut back on the inside and score. These Crusaders won't
know what hit them. It will be just like the Slaptjips try last century. "
Fourie du Preez: "Uhm Meneer, Victor and Bakkies have left and Bakkies is still
injured". Shut up Fourie you're not captain". "Eh, actually Meneer, I am and Brian is also
injured. This is 2008 meneer."..."O fok, Liefling, just kick it every time you
get it."
The Bulls of 2008 are not the Bulls of 2007 and that is why this clever
bugger Deans will bring his team to Loftus full of beans. Bet365 says
Canterbury are the favorites. By how much is what you need to figure out. You
can get 7/1 on the spread if they win by between 11 and 15. Looks like good
money...
Chiefs v NSW Waratahs
The Chiefs were ueber shite last week. Louaki spent the off season in the pie
shop and his body position was so high every time he carried the ball because he
couldn't bend over for all the fat rolls. The Chiefs tight 5 got a job done on
them by the Blues and the Waratahs pack looks efficient.
Even though the Chiefs are at home, we think they Waratahs at 2.57 at
bet365 as the underdog is good money.
Free State Cheetahs v Western Force
Cheetahs at home. Force reeling from the Henjak debacle. Cheetahs to score a
relatively comfortable victory. Bet the double (half time and full time
lead for the Cheetahs) at 2.62 - could be a safe one.
Lions v Auckland Blues
Blues looked class but Loffie is a shrewd bugger and the Lions have pace to
burn. Blues just look too good.
Natal Sharks v Western Stormers
Everyone will be watching Michalak's debut in the Super 14. The Sharks at
home should take it at a canter but you never know in these derbies.
Wellington Hurricanes v Reds
The Hurricanes did their best to give the ball away last week against the
Waratahs. The world's best back row was shown up. This lot want revenge and will
have it against the competition's perennial pretenders.
