Hurricanes vs. Force in Wellington on Friday
Thee two teams are usually like a lucky packet - you have no idea what to
expect. The Canes have been more consistent that ion the past and somehow the
Force left their game when they leave the South African province of Perth. Canes
have too much juice though. People have been writing crap about Jerry. Jerry he
mad.
Canes by 10 or more
Bulls vs Brumbies on Bloutoria on Friday
They talk about a turnaround in Pretoria. Pity its 13 rounds too late. A win
in the soup against the Tahs was certainly what the Loftus faithful were hoping
for but the season is a massive failure for the soon to be ex-champs. The Bulls
will win, but its little consolation for their fans.
Bulls by seven or more.
Highlanders vs Blues on Saturday
The Blues have struggled in Dunedin (hard to think they used to call it the
'House of Pain'), but they will turn that around in an attempt to salvage their
season.
Blues by more than 15.
Reds vs Crusaders in Brisbane on Saturday
People are calling this the big mismatch and you can't see the Saders losing
this. But the Reds are looking better each week and with Chris Latham back they
will play with renewed energy. There's isn't much for the Saders to play for, so
the Reads will push them close. No chance of the Banjoes coming out in Brisbane.
Saders by less than 10
Sharks vs. Cheetahs on Saturday
The Cheetahs rarely been blown away. For sixty minutes that is. Then they
fall apart and this weekend will be no different. It's a pity how bad the Sharks
have been this year. We said on this site that we thought they had been lucky in
many of the games in the first six rounds and the tour from Hell proved that.
All their stars are our of form and nobody can kick goals. They'll only win
because the Cheeetahs are experts at losing.
Sharks by 14
Lions vs Chiefs in Johannesburg on Saturday
Jacques Fourie's return will boost the Lions but as with the Cheetahs, this
side lacks quality all overt the park. The Chiefs will be steaming from their
loss to an average Force team and the Lions will bear the brunt. Louaki plays
well every second week and last week was the bad one.
Chiefs to smoke them by more than 20 in front of empty stands
Stormers vs. Waratahs in Cape Town on Saturday
This is possibly the game of the week, and has the making of the game of the
comp. Regardless of the loss of Burger, the Stormers back 3 have enough talent
and pace to deal with an all Wallaby back row. The Waratahs will target the
Stormers scrum which has been on shaky ground since JD Moller's unfortunate
injury. In fact we think the game is going to ride on how well The Stormers go
at the scrums and the breakdown (they got moldered by the Brumbies in the second
half last week and didn't commit enough bodies). McKenzie has moved CostaLote
Tequilas to
fullback but the Stormers will make a mistake if they target him with bombs. He
played league and part of a league winger's job is the field high kicks and run
it back and he is good at that. Grant should rather look for opportunities to
catch him out of position.
Most bookies have the Stormers only a slight favorite and we agree. There's
so much riding on this game for a franchise which has disappointed for the last
ten years.
Stormers squeeze in by less than 7
