May 28 - As the countdown to Saturday's Super 14 rugby final begins, the Chiefs have left New Zealand and landed in South Africa after a tough flight.
Head coach Ian Foster is confident, however, that after spending a couple of days recovering "by getting guys back into their sleep patterns", the Chiefs will be roarin' and ready to go.
"Finals week is about getting the head right and the body right," said Foster. "The first couple of days over there will largely be limbering up and getting over the travel. Then we'll make sure we understand our game particularly well. It's going to be a mental preparation for the first couple of days.
The Chiefs meet the Bulls at Loftus on Saturday - not the team's first choice of locations, but their hopes of playing at Waikato Stadium were dashed after the Bulls beat the Crusaders 36-23 in the semifinal.
Weather conditions could play in the Chiefs favor, although it remains to be seen how they manage with the altitude.
Two more things count against the Chiefs - the fact that the Bulls will be enjoying home advantage, and winger Sitiveni Sitivatu's dislocated shoulder which will leave him out of the game.
Last month, the Chiefs visited South Africa for a regular season visit and Foster believes that the team's victory in the first game has given them confidence for the upcoming finals.
In the meantime, it was announced that tickets for the Super 14 final game have all sold out. According to the Bulls, all the tickets that were assigned to Computicket and for credit card bookings have run out.
Hundreds queued at Loftus over the weekend to receive a yellow number, and these fans are most probably assured tickets from those that return from other allocations.
