February 24 - The Highlanders and Hurricanes opened the games on Friday night, with the Highlanders being blown away with a 22-17 defeat by the Hurricanes in the closing five minutes.
Defending their unbeaten 2009 title, the Waratahs beat the Chiefs 11-7, to make it their eighth victorious home game on the trot.
South Africa's Cheetahs, on the other side of the scale, weren't able to outrun Western Force, and conceded a 10-16 loss, giving the Force a 1-1 win, while the Cheetahs are now 0-2.
Ending off the nights games in Cape Town with a close finish, were the Stormers and Queensland Reds. The final whistle blew with a score of 27-24 to the Stormers.
Saturday opened with a nail biter between the Brumbies and Canterbury Crusaders. In a similar ending to last week's game against the Highlanders, the Brumbies scored a fulltime conversion, leaving an 18-16 win on the scoreboard.
For the second week running, the 2007 champions, the Bulls, ensured they remain at the top of the log, and took maximum points against the Blues with a record 59-26 victory. They now lead the Brumbies and Waratahs by a point.
Ranking as one of the Super 14 favourites this season, The Sharks devoured the Lions with a 25-10 win on their home ground in Durban. The win for the three-time runners-up the Sharks, secures their position in fourth place.
