December 25 - Sun International has made its first foray into the
casino market of West Africa by opening the largest casino in Lagos, Nigeria.
The casino boasts a wide range of top quality casino features, including
slots and table games that are operated in US dollars.
There are 195 slot games on the casino floor, with wagering denominations
ranging from 1c to $2. The slots include reel slots multi line video slots and
others.
Touch Bet Roulette is also prominently featured in the casino.
All games will be able to be accessed with Sun International's pioneering
Smart Card, which does away for the need to use coins in games and provides
maximum convenience and security.
The Smart Card is used at South African casinos run by Sun International,
including the group's flagship location, Sun City.
The new Nigerian casino is situated on the ground floor of the newly
refurbished Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.
"The opening of the casino is just a taste of what's to come," promised the
Divisional Director of Sun International, Kurt Peter. "In the next phase of the
upgrading of the Federal Palace complex, the Federal Towers hotel which is
currently closed, will undergo a complete refurbishment and will reopen as a
three start hotel."
"Plans are underway to construct the first phase of the state of the art Swim
and Recreation Club, which will provide hotel guests and members with a superior
sport and relaxation facility."
Some top Sun International resorts include Sun City and Wild Coast Sun.
