September 18 - Australian filly,
Sun Classique, outshone her competitors when
she convincingly won the Gr 3 Diana Stakes horse race at Kenilworth in Cape Town on
Saturday.
With odds of 5/10, Sun Classique seemed to hold her own from the start, keeping
challengers including fellow stable mate, Star Role, and Countess Corlia
and Ruby Heart at bay.
With the back markers including Kiss And Fly, Princess Asharaf and Golden Shina,
Ruby Heart made a short-lived break but soon fell back behind as Star Role took
the lead closely followed by Countess Corlia.
At this point seven lengths from the lead, Sun Classique started to dominate the
race as she eventually found a gap and made it to and beyond the front of the
pack to win the race.
Second place was snatched by Countess Corlia followed by Princess Asharaf who
was starting to make up good ground, fourth place by Kiss And Fly who just
managed to beat out Golden Shina.
