July 19 - Kallie Sullwald and son, Quention, the former South African off-road racing champions, won at the Sun City 400 in Pilanesberg.
In the ElegantBAT they finished four crucial seconds ahead of Bevan Bertholdt / Danie Stassen (Lab88 BAT).
The race was a prologue in order to establish the start positions for round four of the Absa Off Road Championship.
Quentin Sullwald commented on their performance: "We had one wrong-slot that cost us a little time, but otherwise we had a clean run. All today did was confirm that this is going to be another tight and very tough race."
Another father and son team, Nardus and Louis Alberts, came in third in the Wrapsa BAT; 14 seconds behind Bertholdt and Strasse.
Fourth place was taken by Colin Matthews and Alan Smith in Century BAT and fifth lace by reigning South African driver's champion, Evan Hutchison, and new co-driver, Darryl Curtis in the Motorite BAT.
Curtis, multiple SA off-road motorcycle champion, quipped: "At least you can't fly over the handlebars. It was fun and I'm looking forward to the race."
Following the first five Class A cars will come the Class P battle between sixth and seventh place. Championship leaders Johan van Staden and James Roussouw (in Atlas Copco BAT) came in with the identical time to brothers David and Gary White in Ruwacon BAT.
