January 5 - After months of intensive efforts, the SA Tennis Open will finally get on underway at Montecasino, Gauteng's premier casino and entertainment complex at the end of this month.
Organizers have announced that the prestigious tennis even will take place from January 31st to February 8th, and already tennis fans are clambering to purchase tickets at Computicket to ensure that they can see the celebrity players who are due to wing their way to the tip of Africa and take part in the SA Tennis Open.
Two players in the line up who will definitely draw the crowds are Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, the Frenchman who has been dubbed the "Mohammed Ali of Tennis" and the heart-throb Spaniard, David Ferrer.
The games will take place on the brand new tennis courts built at Montecasino especially for the event. There is hope that this complex can become the permanent home for the SA Tennis Open that may very well become a regular feature on the calendar of the South African tennis world, after a long break.
Out of town spectators hoping to enjoy nonstop tennis action can take advantage of the hospitality packages offered by Montecasino, which includes accommodation, entrance into matches and other perks. After an enjoyable day on the courts, Montecasino offers spectators the perfect environment to unwind, including excellent restaurants and one of the best casino complexes in the country.
Montecasino has accumulated multiple awards over the years, including Best Casino, Best Entertainment Complex, Best Cinema Complex and, the latest, Best Place to Take Out of Towners in 2008.
