August 28 - The Springboks continue with their surprise tactics ahead of
Saturday night's Tri Nations rugby test with the announcement of the team
selection.
The Springboks are seeking their third Tri Nations Test win at the
Subacio Oval in Perth over the weekend.
The biggest surprise has been the selection of Ruan Pienaar at fullback, to
replace Frans Steyn in the number 15 jersey.
Burger has also been let back into the squad after his suspension that he
clocked up in the British and Irish Lions Tour in June, which he'll spend on the
bench in reserves.
Burger replaces the injured Danie Roussouw.
The full Springboks Team for the Saturday match is as follows:
John Smit - captain, Ruan Pienaar, JP Pietersen, Jacque Fourie, Jean de
Villiers, Bryan Habana, Morne Styen, Fourie du Preez, Pierre SPies, Juan Smith,
Heinrich Brussow, Victor Matfield, Bakkies Botha, Bismarck du Plessis, Tendai
Mtawarira.
If South African wins its fourth consecutive Tri Nations title, it is almost
guaranteed victory in the 2009 Series.
In the five previous meetings between the Springboks and the Wallabies, South
Africa won two games, lost two and a draw was declared in the fifth.
The Wallabies have made at least four different changes in their starting
team since they lost to New Zealand over the weekend.
