February 12 - Sportingbet South Africa is rapidly establishing itself as one of the big players in our local online sports betting market, and their latest contest that is aimed at horse racing punters is certainly going to spark even more interest.
Starting in February and running for three months until the end of April, the "Racing Connoisseurs" will give away betting vouchers worth R14,000 in each month as well as the grand prize of an all-expenses once in a lifetime trip to the UK.
The overall winner of the contest will be sent to Newmarket, the home of English horse racing. But each month ten punters will share in the R14,000 available in free betting vouchers. First prize is a cool R5,000 all the way down to the 10th prize of R500, so even if you start the contest late you can still cash in if you hit a purple patch of form.
So, how does one participate and possibly win? Each time you place a win bet on any South African horse race, provided the stake is a minimum of R100, you earn points based on how your horse fares in the race. If your horse finishes 1st you earn 50 points (and of course you will win your bet as well), if the horse finishes 2nd - 25 points, 3rd - 10 points, and 4th - 5 points.
There is a leader board on Sportingbet that tracks how well every one is doing, and if you're in the top 10 at the end of the month you will win one of the monthly prizes. At the conclusion of the three month competition the punter who has accumulated the most points will be jetting off to the UK!
The only other T&C to be aware of, besides the minimum bet size, is that you can only earn points once for any given horse you bet on. So even if you place three win wagers on the same horse you will only earn 50 points total should that horse win.
Please be sure to check their schedule page that lists all races for which you can earn points, and get started today.
