September 21 - On Thursday, South Africa will play Namibia in their third
match of the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, and Rugby World Cup betting
fans will be looking to the Springboks to deliver a big win.
The match, which will be held in Auckland's North Harbour Stadium, will see
the Springboks and the Biltongboere facing off for the first time since 2007,
when South Africa thrashed Namibia 105-12 in Cape Town.
South Africa World Cup Rugby this year has seen the Springboks enjoy
two recent victories, albeit one very close. The Boks beat Wales 17-16, before
smashing Fiji 49-3. Namibia's track record this World Cup has been somewhat
poorer, after they lost both matches - the first to Fiji 25-49 and the second to
Samoa 12-49.
Namibia has a better side than in any previous Rugby World Cup, despite
losing both matches so far. The Biltongboere have never met such a tough class
of opposition in previous pools and yet have shown themselves more than capable
of mounting tough and accurate attacks when required.
The Namibian side is also determined to get as far in this tournament as
possible. "I can see us improving," said skipper, Jacques Burger. "It's the
Rugby World Cup, and you're representing your country, and you've got to take it
and make the best of it."
The Springboks, in the meantime, had a tough game against Wales, and only won
because of sheer willpower. But the side is now more adamant to win than ever.
"Every single guy here understands that it's a seven-week goal that needs you to
focus on week by week, " said Springbok captain, John Smit. "It's important for
us to be really ruthless again and try to improve on the areas that we have
shown progress on."
Predictions on the SA vs Namibia RWC Game
Keep your eyes on two players - Namibian center Danie van Wyk
who, despite his amateur status, has impressed many in this tournament, and may
very well be someone targeted by professional scouts in the future. The other
is South African Danie Rossouw who is keen on impressing Bok coach, de Villiers
and who did a good job in the Fiji match.
Determination and a strong desire to win may be good qualities
in a team, but we believe that they won't help Namibia in its match against
South Africa tomorrow. There is such a huge gap when it comes to elements such
as strength, speed and experience between the two teams that if South Africa
doesn't win by a huge margin, Smit may have to consider the match a failure.
