Welcome to another week of Super 14 rugby. With the Aussies and South Africa
battling each other in SANZAR, rugby fans are happy to focus on the game and
leave the bickering for the administrators (which might not be a good idea).
The Cheetahs did the Bulls and Sharks a favor by rolling the Crusaders last
weekend and can do them an even bigger one if the beat the Waratahs (and put a
smile on the face of your's truly).
(Odds shown below were at the time of writing and may fluctuate. Odds
provided by
Greatodds.com, South Africa's best locally owned online sportsbook.)
Friday May 1 - Hurricanes vs Blues
The Canes are the form team at the moment and the Blues are trying to
impersonate the Lions with their defense. Canes by plenty.
Match Odds at
Greatodds.com: Hurricanes 3/10, Blues 3/1
Lions vs Crusaders
We hope for a Lions victory and with Fourie back the are a chance but the
Saders are likely to grind out a narrow win.
Match Odds at
Greatodds.com: Lions 8/5, Saders 3/5
Cheetahs vs Waratahs
The giant killers are ready in Bloem. The Waratah's have chosen what looks
like an attacking backline and the Cheetahs defense could be found wanting.
Just. Waratahs squeeze out the Cheetahs in a close one. (Meyer Bosman has missed
the most tackles in the entire comp and the Tahs will know this.)
Match Odds at
Greatodds.com: Cheetahs 4/3, Waratahs 3/4
Saturday May 2 - Reds vs Brumbies
Who cares? Hard one to call though, so we give the home team a small edge.
Match Odds at
Greatodds.com: Reds 1/1, Brumbies 5/6
Sharks vs Highlanders
The Sharks had a dismal and to their overseas tour and looked like
pretenders. With Pienaar back they will hope to return to form. They should
comfortably win at home and will be desperate to get 5 points. Sharks by 10+
Match Odds at
Greatodds.com: Sharks 1/8, Highlanders 6/1
Bulls vs Force
The Aussie media are talking up the Force and just cannot accept that the
Bulls are the real deal. Bulls by 10+ in a typical tight Bulls grinding victory.
Match Odds at
Greatodds.com: Bulls 4/11, Force 11/4
Stormers vs Chiefs
Can the Stormers produce something special at home and beat the red hot
Chiefs? With no Jean de Villiers and a makeshift pack they might struggle.
Chiefs to edge home.
Match Odds at
Greatodds.com: Stormers 5/4, Chiefs 3/4
Good luck with your tips and remember to always bet responsibly. Ryan's
