As most scribes seem to concur, tipping in this year's Super 14 has become a
nightmare. Who would have picked the Cheetahs over the Sharks, and the Bulls
buried the Australian travel bogey to the surprise of most.
Round 10 presents another few challenges and flipping a coin might well be a
better prospect but I'll try to back myself with some sort of logic and
hopefully it's not that of a fool!

Friday 17 April- Blues vs Highlanders
This game has the makings of a great contest. The Blues looked good last week
even though it was only against the Lions. Blues by more than 7.
Match Odds at
Greatodds.com: Blues 2/5, Lions 5/2
Brumbies vs Bulls
Big Vic on baby duty and Big Bakkies having a rest for "striking" Phil Waugh
(he should have got a bloody medal instead). Pakslae Rossouw ran the lineout
well during Vic's time off for injury so don't write the Bulls off. The Brumbies
are a good side, and history is once again against the Bulls. Brumbies by less
than 7.
Match Odds at
Greatodds.com: Brumbies 8/11, Bulls 11/8
Saturday 18 April - Hurricanes vs Stormers
The Stormers are terrible and they have no answers for their terrible scrum.
The Hurricanes got out of jail against the Force last week. The Stormers have a
good defense, but they can't score tries. Canes by ten or less.
Match Odds at
Greatodds.com: Hurricanes 4/9, Stormers 9/4
Reds vs Lions
Who cares? Reds by more than 10.
Match Odds at
Greatodds.com: Reds 1.62, Lions 2.68
Waratahs vs Force
The Waratah wheels look shaky, very shaky. Their own media are star7ing to
question the coaching. The Force play a nice brand of rugby. They have a solid
pack and a good backline. Tahs to slip up and Force to edge home.
Match Odds at
Greatodds.com: Tahs 4/7, Force 7/4
Cheetahs vs Chiefs
The Cheetahs won't repeat their heroics of past week (although everyone
outside Waikato needs them to). The Chiefs will find Kimberly to be a tough
place to play and won't run away with this one and scrape home by less than 7.
Match Odds at
Greatodds.com: Cheetahs 9/4, Chiefs 2/5
Sharks vs Crusaders
The Sharks were jolted by the Cheetahs loss and will front big time for this
one and edge out Richie's mob but only just.
Match Odds at
Greatodds.com: Sharks 4/11, Crusaders 5/2
Good luck with your tips and remember to always bet responsibly. Ryan's
tips up to Round 8: 38 from 61
