May 13 - 888 Holdings, through its newly established B2B division, Dragonfish, has entered into a lucrative new agreement with Phumelela Gold Enterprises in a move that will provide the latter with an excellent new sportsbook product.
Phumelela Gold Enterprises - a joint venture between the South African horse racing operator and the betting operators, Gold Circle - will benefit from a comprehensive sports book offering as an initial phase of the agreement.
As South Africa's online gambling laws become clearer and kick into action, the second phase of the agreement will see Dragonfish provide PGE with a variety of top casino, bingo, poker and instant games.
The Group Chief Executive Officer of Phumelela Gaming and Leisure Ltd., Rian du Plessis said about the new deal: "As a recognized world leader in harnessing the latest technology to globalize horseracing, we are very happy to sign with a partner that can provide us with market leading technology to expand our offering worldwide. Working with Dragonfish going forward will help us to diversify our online offering and build on our current success."
Phumelela Gold Enterprises owns the domestic horse racing channel, Tellytrack, as well as the media rights to scores of the top racing tracks in the United Kingdom, including Aintree and Cheltenham.
The Managing Director of Dragonfish, Gabi Campos commented on the business-to-business partnership and said: "Horseracing is the largest sector in worldwide sportsbetting and we are delighted to work with a global leader in this area. Phumelela has a huge user base in South Africa and this deal will ensure that they have the best tools available with which to provide their customers with a cutting edge online gaming offering."
