Overview / How to Play An American version of an Asian game (Gai Gow) was introduced with the use of playing cards - Pai gow poker.
This newer game is played with a standard deck of 52 cards including a joker which can be used as either an ace or a wild card for the completion of a straight, flush or straight flush.
The game is played on a table the size of a blackjack table with up to six
players who play against the banker.
In order to begin the game players make their bets in accordance with the table minimum, the dealer then shuffles the cards and deals out seven stacks which contain seven cards each.
The first player looks at the 7 cards and sets them into a 2-card hand and a 5-card hand. The table has a place allocated to place your hands. The 2-card hand is placed in front and the 5-card is placed behind it.
You are a winner if both your hands beat the Banker's 2 hands, and if 1 of your hands beats the Bankers and 1 loses, it is called a push.
(no winners). It will be a tie if either of your hands equals the same value as the Banker's hand.
When placing your hands, your 5-card hand must be of a higher value than your 2-card hand. You automatically lose if you make a mistake and the 2-card hand is higher.
This game is a casino game of a slightly slower pace.
