May29 - Nhlangano Casino Royale is hoping to get a complete facelift in time for the expected tourism boost in mid 2010 for the Soccer World Cup. The owners of Nhlangano Casino Royale believe that the complex will be ready for this event and that the customer service that visitors will receive will be at the top level.
There is currently a multi-million renovation project taking place at the Emalangeni complex and the casino's owners is hoping that the sports facilities at the complex, such as the golf complex, can also be redone. A request has been put before the Football Association to help in this endeavor.
Not only would the golf course have to be renovated but the clubhouse itself, which serves as a focal point of the golf club, would also need to be completely redone, as it is currently in shambles. The town's board has been approached to assist, because it runs all sporting activities in its jurisdiction.
Zachariah Dlamini, General Manager of Nhlangano Casino Royale said: "There was a standing agreement with the erstwhile owners of the hotel, the Nhlangano Sun International and the town council whereby the golf course benefitted the guests of the hotel. Whether this is government property or not, the matter is that it has to be utilized to bring back life to Shiselweni. The idea is to make this town a preferred destination for tourists."
Dlamini added that the casino was now up and running and that many of the regular clients thought that it had closed down when the complex changed ownership. Dlamini stressed that the casino is very much open for business and was looking forward to the support of locals and visitors to boost the image of the complex before the World Cup season.
