December 5 - Sun International is searching for a new Chief Executive
Officer, after David Coutts-Trotter unexpectedly resigned from the mammoth South
African gaming group last month.
Coutts-Trotter was released with immediate effect as CEO, upon his own
request, and the Gaming Operations Director Garth Collins was temporarily
appointed acting CEO of the gaming and leisure group.
While Collins continues to act as CEO, the search is reportedly still ongoing
to find a permanent new Sun International CEO to replace Coutts-Trotter.
At the time of Coutts-Trotter's resignation, the group issued a short
statement, saying: "For personal reasons, David has requested to be released
from the company with immediate effect."
When Collins was named as acting CEO, a Sun International statement reported
that Collins had been with the group for the past four decades, and that he was
well suited to run Sun International in the interim.
