October 29 - Poker is known to be the king of casino games, and most casinos will have exclusive areas dedicated only to poker, away from the slot machines, roulette tables and blackjack tables. Montecasino has realized the need to give poker the respect it deserves and has recently announced the opening of an exclusive and separate area for poker which will hold 6 traditional poker tables and 60 poker machines.
Montecasino is the Gauteng's leading gaming and entertainment destination with over 8500 square meters of gaming areas. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it currently holds about 1700 slot machines and 70 gaming tables. Novelty games such as Wheel of Fortune and Monopoly are also available at Montecasino. The casino has now announced that the exclusive Montecasino Poker Room is now ready for action and invites players to join in the fun.
"Poker is continually growing in popularity worldwide and particularly in South Africa. Our exclusive Poker Suite and future tournaments will cater to this demand and will further entrench Montecasino as the "Gamer-tainment" destination in Gauteng" said Adam MacIntyre, the Main Floor Tables Manager.
The opening of Montecasino's poker room follows the first ever-annual SA Poker Masters Tournament. Montecasino plans to hold its own poker tournaments to be staged at the Poker Suite, as well as the 2009 SA Poker Masters tournament. Montecasino is encouraging players to keep in close contact about exciting events and special offers that will be available in the Poker Suite, by checking out the Montecasino website regularly.
