September 6 - Last week, it was reported that the Mega Moolah linked slot game, Summertime, paid one lucky player out the incredible sum of $4.1 million.
Originally, Blackjack Ballroom online casino was cited as the online casino where the huge win took place, however, it soon became clear that the win sparked a clash between other casinos who claimed the same thing.
As such, the Chief Executive Officer of Microgaming, creator of the Mega Moolah, Roger Raatgever came out with a statement this weekend, confirming that the slot jackpot was actually won at Spin Palace Casino.
Spin Palace, part of the Palace Group, is one of the more popular Microgaming partner online casinos and carries literally hundreds of online casino games, including the four that link the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot.
"I am delighted that the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot was won on 29th August, and can confirm that even though the win has been claimed by a number of different casinos, it was in fact won by a player on Spin Palace Casino," said Raatgever.
The identity of the player has not yet been revealed, except the fact that she goes under the pseudonym of Mrs. P at Spin Palace Casino.
A spokesperson for Spin Palace explained why no other details have been released about the winner just yet.
"This is a substantial win, and understandably Mrs. P is quite overwhelmed by what will undoubtedly be a life-changing windfall," he said. "We are currently in discussions with her, and will hopefully be able to make further announcements shortly."
