January 16 - Good news for South African sports betting fans:
Intralot's subsidiary in the country has been awarded a coveted Fixed Odds
Betting license by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board.
With its betting license, Intralot South Africa will now be allowed
to offer sports betting in the Western Cape, as well as in the rest of the
country via the internet, mobile devices and telephone.
The Intralot fixed odds platform will operate under the brand name
JustBet.
South African sports betting fans will be able to wager on the
popular sports in the country, including rugby, soccer, cricket, golf and many
others.
Western Cape bettors will find the platform available through a
network of agents, while the rest of South Africans will also be able to wager
through a new website.
Intralot South Africa indicated that it will also offer horse race
betting in the near future.
South Africans Embrace New Intralot Platforms
The Managing Director of Africa Sub Sahara Region of the
Intralot Group, Dr. Yannis Rondiris said about Intralot's being awarded the
fixed odds license: "Intralot is very pleased to take a step forward and
launch fixed odds sports betting in South Africa, both land based and
interactive, following Intralot's Group strategy that focuses on the convergence
of retail with internet and mobile channels."

Intralot History in South Africa
In 2007, Intralot announced that Gidani - in which its
subsidiary Intralot South Africa is an equity member - was awarded the license
to operate the South African
National Lottery.

country, including as a strong supporter of education. For several years, the

Shanduka Foundation, to provide equal opportunities for students.
