March 9 - The Chiefs were in high spirits, as they kicked off the weekend's Super 14 rugby betting action against Western Force, taking their first win of the season with a 31-13 win in Hamilton.
The Waratahs beat their nemesis the Reds, with a score of 15-11, making it the 4th win of the season for the Waratahs. They are now 1 of 3 unbeaten sides, and have succeeded in 10 consecutive home victories, matching a record set between 1936 and 1938.
The Cheetahs were humiliated for the 4th successive time in the 2009 Super 14 season. The Hurricanes blew the Cheetahs away, with a 29-12 defeat in New Plymouth.
The Blues were out to settle an old score with the Sharks in Auckland on Saturday, but they Sharks kept up their Super 14 winning streak against the Blues, and beat them 31-35. The Sharks are now 3rd on the log, after they took their first four-try bonus point of the season.
The most talked about match of the weekend was between the Highlanders and the Crusaders in Dunedin. The Crusaders crept off the field with a devastating 6-0 loss to the Highlanders, making this their 3rd loss in a row, and producing the lowest collective score since Super Rugby's inception. The previous record was in 2007 in Brisbane, between the Brumbies and the Reds, producing a 6-3 win.
The Bulls and Stormers wrapped up the weekend with a match that was predicted to end with a wider margin of victory. The Stormers kept the Bulls on their toes, with the final whistle blowing on a 14-10 win to the Bulls, keeping them at the top of the log.
