May 25 - It should be a great day of horse racing this Saturday at Scottsville. There are four feature race sprints on the card, featuring many of the country's fastest thoroughbreds. Unfortunately they have to race on one of the least predictable racecourses around, but it should make for some decent payouts for the fortunate few punters who can work it all out beforehand.
We are here to help, in any way possible, with free horse racing tips for all four of these world class sprints. Herewith our expert selections:
Allan Robertson Championship
Typically a very hard race to handicap, but it does feature the nation's best juvenile fillies and this crop has seen some standout performances. But, note that horses this young tend to make staggering leaps of improvement that can defy the form book. And, they all have talent to be in this lineup to start with. That being said the favourite is TRINITY HOUSE, and should be hard to beat. Cape form is the strongest in the country - not up for debate - and this horse has done nothing wrong.
Want a runner at 12/1 odds? Who doesn't, so have a nibble on COMTESSE DUBOIS. 1200m is more her bag, and what race will Team Valor not win this year?
Tsogo Sun Maverick Medallion
Pay attention here: lay Delago Deluxe if you're a bookie. And ignore him if you're a punter. Gauteng race form is useless this season, and this horse has yet to beat anything of note. SOWETO SLEW is a better horse and will beat him. That's a free tip to take to the bank.
South African Fillies Sprint
Val De Ra is a wonderful filly but can she stay 6 furlongs? It seems doubtful and this is a tough lineup for her to beat. COVENANT has the form to win this race, and GIBRALTAR BLUE will also be tough if she strips fit (that's a little joke by the way, what de Kock runner doesn't?). Not ignoring Give Me Five either, since Sen Tarry is coming back to form. Feel that COVENANT is the right one here, though.
Golden Horse Casino Sprint
This race will be won by WHAT A WINTER. You could read more analysis but why bother? Watch out for Cape raiders, especially long shot BUSH PIRATE who is a must for exotic bets. Ignore the horses from the Gauteng and you're left with a Pick 6 banker here.
