First Slots Tournament Millionaire Announced

November 9 - In a stunning victory, the player 'Pattoned' became an overnight millionaire by taking down the biggest paying online slots tournament in history.

The player, also known as Stefan from London, banked an incredible €1 million after winning Microgaming's Grand Slam of Slots tournament last week.

The €1.3 million prize pool was shared by nearly 500 players, out of an original 8,700 finalists from all the Microgaming casinos on the internet.

Players from networks such as the Microgaming powered Vegas Partner Lounge tried their luck through qualifiers and satellites in a bid to reach the finals, and then battle it out over an 11 day period to head the leaderboard.

Pattoned played it out in the wings over the course of the final days of the competition and only jumped to the top of the board in the last 24 hours of the tournament.

He beat more prominent players such as Rick H. who headed the board for a few days prior.

Vegas  Partner Lounge said that the Grand Slam of Slots was only the beginning of exciting things to come, and that a future tournament is already in the planning stages.

"We had a lot of fun with this project," said Vegas Partner Lounge Manager Austin Green. "It is great to see so many players participating in this tournament and competing each other so feverishly. Now that the Grand Slam of slots has been concluded, this does not mean that we will stop with our multiplayer program at our casinos. We will still be holding the $20,000 weekend multiplayer tournament, daily tournaments and freerolls."
