March 21 - Looking for something interesting to do this upcoming Easter
weekend? Then why not head down to Montecasino, Gauteng's premier
entertainment destination for all your gambling and leisure needs.
Starting Friday 21st of March and through to the 23rd, visitors will be able
to visit the resort and enjoy a fun Easter atmosphere.
For families visiting with kids (and even for those who aren't!), the Easter
Bunny will be handing out chocolates throughout the day at the Montecasino Food
Court. Other family-oriented entertainment includes a magician, a face painter,
a jumping castle, and a balloon sculptor.
Montecasino, the flagship of the prestigious Tsogo Sun Corporate, is one of
five licenses owned by the company and consists of a R1.4-billion retail,
leisure and gambling complex in Gauteng.
Designed to resemble an old Tuscany village, Montecasino brings to life all
the authenticity of the Italian countryside. Its massive casino area houses no
less than 1700 slot machines and 70 gaming tables, where gamblers can try their
luck at a wide range of games at any skill level, and to suit any pocket size.
The casino is conveniently located only a few hundred meters from the
off-ramps of major highways leading to all Gauteng destinations, including
Pretoria and the International Airport.
Tsogo Sun is presently negotiating a deal with Gold Reef Resorts, a top
industry competitor, to buy out the multi-billion Rand company. A previous
buyout controversy which had Gold Reef ignore Tsogo Sun's initial bid on the
company, took a large bite of the Gold Reef's annual revenues. It is expected
that Tsogo will offer relatively less on any new deal that might materialize
than the one initially made.
If a deal is signed between Gold Reef Resorts and Tsogo Sun Corporate, it is
expected create one of the biggest single entities of its kind in the South
African gambling and entertainment industry.
