December 12 - The international entertainment and gambling company, Century Casinos has announced the signing of a lucrative new deal that will see it operate casinos on a new fleet of passenger ships.
Century Casinos owns and operates, through its subsidiary Century Casinos Africa, the Caledon Hotel, Spa and Casino near Cape Town, and also has a 60% stake in Century Casino Newcastle.
The new deal with the TUI Cruises will see Century Casinos receive the exclusive rights to run the casinos on all passenger cruise liners put into operation by the shipping company before 2012.
TUI announced that the maiden voyage of its first vessel from its new cruise fleet will set sail in May 2009, and will tour the North and Baltic Sea.
The 18,000 square feet cruise ship is one of the most luxurious on the sailing circuit at present. Over half its 974 cabins have sun balconies or patios looking out onto the sea, while passengers can enjoy superb service at the ten themed restaurants or eateries, the same number of bars, a pampering spa, sundecks, pools and theaters.
Century Casinos will integrate its top quality casino services on the four plus star passenger ship and provide endless entertainment for the nearly 2000 passengers on board.
The casino experience on board promises to be one of the most exciting on the open seas, providing traditional casino games, drinks, live music, an outdoor area and a smoking section.
This is not the first cruise ship deal signed by Century Casinos. The company already runs casinos on the luxury ship six star Silver Cloud, belonging to Silversea Cruises.
