January 21 - Poker pros from all over the world are signing up to one of the most exciting annual poker event to take place on African soil - the All Africa Poker Tournament.
Scheduled to take place at the Piggs Peak Hotel and Casino in Swaziland, the poker tournament has a guaranteed prize pool of a whopping R3.5 million - the perfect reason to show off your poker skills next month!
The winner of the Main Event will walk away with a R1 million prize, and the organizers are also throwing in no less than five World Series of Poker 2009 prize packages for good measure.
These WSOP prize packages, valued at R150,000, will send Team All Africa Poker to Las Vegas in the middle of the year to take part and bring a little African pride to the event!
Buy in to the All Africa Poker Tournament stands at R25,000, say the organizers. R20,000 of this amount goes towards the prize pool (one main event seat to the All Africa Poker Tournament and a 5,000 coin stack) , while the rest of the money allows the player and a partner to enjoy three nights of luxury accommodation at the Piggs Peak Hotel and Casino in Swaziland, including drinks and meals in the poker room.
Besides the main event (scheduled to take place on February 26th, 2009), there will be several Sit and Go tournaments, as well as a R350,000 Guaranteed Shootout Tournament. In addition, players can enjoy cash games throughout the tournament for a little bit of poker action on the side.
Those interested in taking part in the All Africa Poker Tournament are urged to sign up as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
