Friday 23 March: Blues (0.53) v Hurricanes (1.65) - Auckland
Form would suggest a boilover with a Hurricanes team that was not supposed to
be this good but the Blues will be thankful to be back at home and will squeeze
out a victory.
Margin Tip: Blues by 1-5 at 3/1
Prediction: Blues by five
Friday, 23 March: Rebels (0.95) v Force (.95),
Melbourne
Does anyone actually care? Well maybe a few people in Melbourne and Perth.
The Rebels have lost twelve in a row. They actually look like a much better team
this year so we think they will break that streak.
Margin Tip: Rebels by 6-10 at 4/1
Prediction: Rebels by less than 7
Saturday, 24 March: Waratahs(.7) v Sharks (1.3),
Sydney
Sydney is not a happy hunting ground for the Sharks and although the Waratahs
have serious injury and form issues, home town advantage will be enough to see
them through. The Sharks have simply not shown anything to suggest that they can
win a game of this magnitude.
Margin Tip: Waratahs by 6-10 at 7/2
Prediction: Waratahs by 10
Saturday, 24 March: Crusaders (.06) v Cheetahs (10),
Christchurch
The longest odds of the season so far is 9/1 that you can get on the Cheetahs
but only a madman will even think of that.
Margin Tip: Saders by 16-20 at 4/1
Prediction: Crusaders by 15 or more
Saturday, 24 March: Brumbies (1.3) v Highlanders (.7),
Canberra
The Brumbies have been getting out of jail and have for periods played some
reasonable rugby but they are faced with the toughest counter rucking team in
the comp. The physicality and speed out wide of this Highlanders team will be
too much for Jake White's charges. Look for the Brumbies to put up a good fight
though.
Margin Tip: Highlanders by 1-5 at 3/1
Prediction: Highlanders by less than one score
Saturday, 24 March: Bulls (.25) v Reds (3.5), Pretoria
Bulls fans will be hoping for another 90+ victory over the Reds but that's a
bit far fetched. The Reds have serious injury problems and lost their most
potent attacking weapon in Digby Iaone to a suspension. The Reds have a good
pack though and will not be bossed upfront so the game will be closer than Bulls
fans seem to think but they should win it.
Margin Tip: Bulls by 6-10 at 7/2
Prediction: Bulls by 7+
Saturday, 24 March: Lions (2.5) v Stormers (.36), Johannesburg
All the positives vibes around the Lions at the start if the season seem to
have evaporated. They are missing no less than 11 of their squad members through
injury and coach Mitchell is having to dog deep into his reserve stocks. The
Stormers on the other hand started to look good last week and will have the
accuracy to put the Lions away.
Margin Tip: Stormers by 11-15 at 5/1
Prediction: Stormers by 12
