Thursday 5 April: Rebels (3/1) v Blues (1/2) - Melbourne
Although the Rebels have looked much better than ever be3fore in their last
two matches, the Blues will have too much fore power and their packs will secure
them enough ball to unleash their dangerous backs.
Margin Tip: Blues by 6-10 at 9/2. The line at Sportingbet gives the
Force a 7 point head start and the Blues should cover the margin.
Prediction: Blues by Seven or more
Friday, 6 April: Hurricanes (6/5) v Sharks (5/6),
Wellington
The bookies have the Sharks as a one point favourite which is probably fair
after their good win in Canberra and against a patchy Hurricanes side that was
unable to capitalize on a 14 point lead against the Cheetahs. They are talking
of a renaissance in Durbs but let's not get carried away. The Sharks are
improving every week which is good news.
Margin Tip: Sharks by 1-5 at 9/2
Prediction: Sharks by less than a score
Friday, 6 April: Reds (8/11) v Brumbies (11/8),
Brisbane
The Reds will look to get their tour of horrors our of the memory back in
their fortress in Brisbane. We back the Brumbies to pull off the upset, even
though the bookies have installed the Reds as a 2 point favourite.
Margin Tip: Brumbies by 1-5 at 9/2. Back the Brumbies at 11/8.
Prediction: Brumbies by 3
Friday, 6 April: Force (1/2) v Chiefs (2/1),
Perth
A Chiefs team that has played some of the most exciting rugby in the comp
comes up against the Force who have shown a lot more composure than we have been
used to from them over the past few years. The Chiefs are just a far better side
and it will show. They are a five point favourite which flatters the Force.
Margin Tip: Chiefs by 11-15 at 6/1
Prediction: Chiefs by 12
Saturday, 7 April: Highlanders (4/5) v Stormers (5/4),
Dunedin
Home town advantage, playing against a jet lagged Stormers team and ability
to dominate the breakdown will see the highlanders home in what is a
mouth-watering clash, between the table topping teams Don't miss this one.
Margin Tip: Highlanders by 1-5 at 4/1
Prediction: Highlanders to edge it
Saturday, 7 April: Cheetahs (1/2) v Lions (2/1), Bloemfontein
Can this be the match that decided relegation? Probably. On form the Cheetahs
should run away with this. Their confidence will be sky high after a great tour.
Margin Tip: Cheetahs by 6-10 at 5/1
Prediction: Cheetahs by 7+
Saturday, 7 April: Bulls (4/6) v Crusaders (6/4), Pretoria
The young Bulls pack gave a good account of themselves in Cape Town but
ultimately got outmuscled by a stronger Stormers pack. They will have to lift
their game another notch against a star studded Crusaders pack. In the backs Dan
Carter will have shaken off his rust and poses a massive threat. The Blues
exposed the Bulls at the tackle point earlier in the season and the Crusaders
will look to apply the same pressure. We expect the young Bulls to lift and bash
their way to victory.
Margin Tip: Stormers by 1-5 at 9/2
Prediction: Bulls by 3
