The disappointment of the last minute loss against the old enemy at Soccer
City has barely set in and it's time to focus on Australia at Loftus.
With the Tri Nations trophy already in New Zealand, the focus shifts to two
teams with a lot to play for. It's Victor Matfield's 100th test match and the
Loftus faithful are no doubt going to go nuts when he runs on.

Many question marks remain for the Boks. It seems as if the coaches are hell
bent on confusing the public with their strange selections. After a disastrous
breakdown performance in Brisbane with no fetcher to counter David Pocock,
Pieter de Villiers seemed to think it's a good idea to give Pocock free reign
again by dropping Francois Louw.
The bench must be the worst balanced one in years. Januarie and James continue
to ride their luck, and the absence of Gio Aplon is perplexing. Surely with
Frans Steyn starting there was no need for a kicker on the bench?
The Wallabies expect the Boks to smash them, and will try and spread it wide
all night long. This will all depend on how well they contest the breakdown and
the accuracy of the Boks' kicking game.
The Wallabies have a lot of questions to answer and Robbie Deans is under
mounting pressure from the media. The return of Cooper is huge for them, but
there is a big difference between a Super 14 game in Brisbane and a test at
Loftus. They have not won on the Highveld for almost fourty years and that seems
to be their big motivator.
John Smit has a lot to prove with continued criticism over his conditioning
and form. Five missed tackles including the one on Nonu that lead to the
Dagg try did not help. We pick the Boks by 5. The home ground advantage will be
telling but make no mistake, the Wallabies will push them hard.
