There are two groups of people who had a happy week. New Zealanders and
bookmakers.

New Zealanders for obvious (and painful reasons). Bookmakers because the bulk
of the money would have gone on a narrow NZ win. Unfortunately for us suffering
Bok fans, none of that offers any consolation.

What upset me most was the way we lost. Gone was the toughness that has made
us fans so proud for the last number of years. We were blown off the park by
power, skill and class.
Some of Pieter de Villier's selections were questionable and not just the
obvious ones. He continues to persist with Ricky Januarie and surely now it is
nothing but de Villiers' own stubbornness that keeps him his place. Jean de
Villiers stays on the wing. Again, why not just play de Villiers and Fourie in
the midfield, one of our best combinations ever. Olivier has not performed at
test level and is starting to look like one of those plaeyrs who look great at
Super 14 level but can't cut the mustard at test level.
The return of Butch James remains a mystery. All he seems to want to do is
pick a fight once he came on. What more could Peter Grant do? But the most
baffling selection is that of Bakkies Botha in the first test. Why he started
ahead of Rossouw made no sense but the enough has been said about Bakkies all
week. He has apologised (who cares?) and even his mother has had her say. He remains an idiot
and should not play for the Boks again.
For all his dynamism, Aplon sits on the bench again with Jean de Villiers
stuck on the wing. It doesn't make sense.
The Kiwi's will be flying high and their media has written the Boks off.
Can we bounce back? In a word, no.
Whilst the Boks will perform a lot better, we can't see
them beating a confident and skilful All Black Team. Boks to lose by less than
5.
