February 25 - Who would have called both the Reds and the Cheetahs winning on
the same weekend but it happened last week. The Sharks start what could a be a
nightmare of a road trip and the Bulls and Stormers will look to end the weekend
on another winning note.

Crusaders (-14) vs Sharks (+14) - Christchurch - Friday
The Crusaders lost against the Reds and will be fuming. When last have they
played badly two weeks in a row? Never. The Sharks have been woeful and look
clueless. The jetlag won't help. We can't see any light at the end of the tunnel. Crusaders
by 10.
Stormers (-5) vs Brumbies (+5) - Cape Town - Friday
This has all the makings of a thriller. The Brumbies won't just play for 40
minutes this week and without Schalk the Stormers will have to be on their game.
The Stormers should have control in the set piece but it's at the breakdown and
in open play where they will struggle against the awesome Elsom. Home town
advantage will help the Stormers home by 5.
Hurricanes (-23) vs Lions (+23) - Wellington - Friday
Will the Lions learn to tackle in a week? Not enough against a team who can
run it from anywhere. The Hurricanes have been winning without braking a sweat.
The Lions have too many no-names. Carnage. Hurricanes by 20 plus (Pick: They
Canes should cover the spread).
Reds (-3) vs Blues (+3) - Brisbane - Saturday
This is an interesting one. Had Captain Horwill still been playing we would
have called it easily as a Reds victory. However, it remains to be seen if the
Reds can perform without their leader. The Blues have some big guns but can't
seem to deliver on their promise and have looked very disjointed. Can't believe
I am picking them but the Reds should win this by 7.
Force (+6) vs Chiefs (-6) - Perth - Saturday
The Force have some of their injured players back in a totally new looking
backline. Without Pocock they battled at the breakdown and will again. The
Chiefs will have too much gas and win by 10 plus.
Cheetahs (-5) vs Highlanders (+5) - Bloemfontein - Saturday
If the Cheetahs can produce anything near as good as their play last week we
pick them to rout the Highlanders. they have disappointed for three years though
but should be up for it and win against a Highlanders team who always try hard
but just don't have the class. Cheetahs win by 7 plus.
Bulls (-15) vs Waratahs (+15) - Pretoria - Saturday
Two weeks of putting 50 plus over the opposition and the Bulls look well
oiled, organised and a champion team. The Waratahs will be desperate. Their
media is already starting to put them through the wringer and their coach and
captain are under big pressure. It will be a lot closer than Bulls fans like to
think. They will struggle to get go-forward without Spies but will have too much
in the tank and hold their nerve to win by 5.
Ryan's season record: 10/14 = 72%
