The local soccer world is gearing up for one of the most exciting events this year, in the form of the Confederations Cup, due to kick off in a couple of months time.
From June 14th to June 28th, 8 soccer teams will play against each other in an elimination type competition in locations all around South Africa. Confederations Cup betting will be available online at our recommended online bookmakers.
The teams playing are as follows:
Group 1:
South Africa, New Zealand, Iraq and Spain
Group 2:
Brazil, USA, Italy and Egypt
The first match, South Africa versus Iraq, will kick off at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on Sunday June 14th at 4 pm. The Confederations Cup odds for this game are sure to favour the home team, although Iraq will not be intimidated as Bafana Bafana are not exactly setting the soccer betting world alight these days.
Matches will then take place around South Africa, at stadiums such a Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria, and the Royal Bafokeng in Rustenburg.
The first semi final will take place between the first in Group A and the second in Group B at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on Wednesday June 24th at 8.30 pm.
The second semi final will be played out at Ellis Park between the first in Group B and the second in Group A on Thursday 25th June at 8.30 pm.
The third place playoff will be held at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Sunday 28th June at 3.30 pm, between the two losers of the semi final games.
However, the most exciting game of them all will be played between the winner of the first semi final and the winner of the second semi final on Sunday 28th June at 8.30 pm for the Confederations Cup Final.
South African soccer fans can expect the month of June to be filled with great international soccer during the course of this competition.
